Kawasaki Motors Corp., USA and New Jersey Motorsports Park have announced a new partnership that will see the manufacturer become the title sponsor for AMA Pro Road Racing’s visit to New Jersey Motorsports Park this fall.

The weekend of September 13-14, 2014 will be branded as the Kawasaki Devil’s Showdown, and will feature AMA Pro SuperBike, AMA Pro GoPro Daytona SportBike, AMA Pro SuperSport and AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson Series classes.

“Kawasaki is excited to join forces with NJMP in sponsorship of AMA Pro Road Racing’s event in New Jersey to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Ninja motorcycle and its rich racing heritage,” said Kevin Allen, Manager, Public Relations and Brand Experience. “We look forward to engaging with our fans and sharing in this Ninja experience.”

The Kawasaki Devil’s Showdown in Millville, N.J. is the last scheduled event of the 2014 AMA Pro Road Racing season and is expected to be a pivotal, perhaps championship-deciding weekend.

Additional fan activities and events will be announced shortly.

“We’re very pleased to welcome Kawasaki as a partner and to add this exciting sponsorship to our AMA Pro Racing event in September,” said NJMP General Manager/COO. “We look forward to a great event, and the Kawasaki presence and activation will be a major part of that.”

“We’re very pleased with the turnout, the competition, and the overall debut of the Northeast Karting Showdown for the 2014 season,” said Steven Hahn, Director of Go-Karting. “It’s been a long winter, and everyone’s been looking forward to this opening day.”

The Northeast Karting Showdown is a fun, unique, and competitive series that is held at Go-Karting at New Jersey Motorsports Park. Consisting of seven scheduled events, the Northeast Karting Showdown offers racing opportunities for virtually any motor and chassis combination, including but not limited to, Rotax and TAG engines.

The Northeast Karting Showdown resumes on with Round 2 on Saturday, May 10th on the Tempest course at Go-Karting. An official club practice is scheduled for Friday, May 9th.

People Against Distracted Driving, NJMP team up for motorcycle raffle

PADD 2013 UPDATE PURPLE copy3:36 p.m.

New Jersey Motorsports Park has recently partnered with the Nikki Kellenyi Foundation – People against Distracted Driving, on a number of initiatives to assist in the elimination of texting and driving.

As part of the campaign, a 2013 Harley Davidson Sportster Iron 833 (model XL883N) will be raffled off to an NJMP fan, with a portion of ticket proceeds going to the PADD organization. Entries are $10.00 and available at www.njmp.com.

The motorcycle, valued at $7,999, will go to the winner of a Sunday, September 14th drawing, which will occur following the final race of NJMP’s AMA Pro Road Racing “Devil’s Showdown” weekend. It is currently on display at the facility’s Finish Line Pub.

“All of us at New Jersey Motorsports Park are excited about our partnership with PADD, and certainly this raffle for such an important cause,” said Park general manager/COO Brad Scott. “This is just the beginning of our partnership, and we look forward to a great season of helping spread their message.”

Nikki Kellenyi was the rear passenger of a car driven by her classmate when a fatal collision with a pick-up truck occurred. It was later revealed that the driver of the car Kellenyi was riding in had sent four text messages in the last minute before the crash. Today, it is the hope of the Kellenyi family as well as her large community of friends, to carry on a campaign, in Nikki’s name to call attention to and end distracted driving.

“I know that I can speak for Nikki, my wife Gina, and my beautiful daughter Kristen and all of PADD to say that we are truly honored to be partnered with NJMP. This is an awesome approach and a great way to battle the new epidemic of distracted driving.”

Official raffle rules and regulations are available at www.njmp.com.

New Jersey Motorsports Park’s partnership with People against Distracted Driving’s “Don’t Text and Drive” campaign, announced in late 2013, will include signage at the Park during the 2014 season.
