JUSTDRIVE.com Signs on as Naming Rights Partner of New Jersey Motorsports Park’s September 17th NASCAR K&N Pro Series Race

The official event name to be the “JustDrive.com125”

March 7, 2016 MILLVILLE, N.J. – JUSTDRIVE.com is taking the fast lane as the new title sponsor of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series race on September 17th at New Jersey Motorsports Park. The public service sponsorship will give JUSTDRIVE.com significant exposure in conjunction with marketing of this major race event, as promotions will appear in a wide range of regional media markets. It is the first time the organization has signed an agreement with the Millville facility. So what exactly is JUSTDRIVE.com? New Jersey is taking aim at texting and talking while driving with a public education campaign that uses television, print, radio and billboards to warn against multi-tasking behind the wheel. The site, developed by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission, provides citizens with an online forum to share stories about driving behavior. This partnership will include signage throughout New Jersey Motorsports Park that will help “drivethe message against distracted driving for the entire 2016 season. Announcements driving the message will be made during each spectator event throughout 2016 and representatives from JUSTDRIVE.com will be on hand at these events to help educate the public about the dangers of risky driving behaviors.

“We’ve had a great history of sponsorship partners here at New Jersey Motorsports Park, and we’re excited to welcome JUSTDRIVE.com into the fold,” said NJMP general manager Mark Verrastro. Our facility is honored to be partnering with such a great initiative as JUSTDRIVE.com. The naming rights deal will give this campaign great exposure with the NASCAR media outlets and NBC Sports Network coverage of the event.”

The JUSTDRIVE.com 125 is set for September 17th, this is the first ever NASCAR race for Thunderbolt Raceway. The event is the first of its kind at the 2.25-mile road course, in addition to marking NASCAR K&N’s first visit to the track.

“We are proud to partner with NJ Motorsports Park and NASCAR to continue our efforts to put an end to the dangerous behavior of talking and texting behind the wheel,” said Raymond Martinez, Chairman and Chief Administrator of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission. “Just as we have done with seatbelts and drinking and driving in the past, it is now time to focus our attention and resources on this new epidemic.”

About JustDrive.com:

The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission’s Just Drive public awareness campaign seeks to educate drivers in New Jersey about the dangers and consequences of using a mobile phone while driving. As of July 2014, New Jersey has increased the fines for talking or texting on a handheld device while driving. Offending drivers face a minimum fine of $200 for the first offense, a minimum fine of $400 for a second offense, and a minimum fine of $600 plus a possible 90-day license suspension and three motor vehicle penalty points for the third offense. New Jersey Motorsports Park in the running for Favorite Race Track in America!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 19, 2016

New Jersey Motorsports Park in the running for Favorite Race Track in America!
National Speed Sport News reports NJMP is currently in the top five with one more week to vote.

Once again this year, New Jersey Motorsports Park is in contention with some of the top motorsports facilities in America for the top spot in the Speed Sport ‘My Favorite Track’ poll. Last season NJMP finished in the third position among road courses, ranked with facilities such as Virginia International Raceway and Road America.

Last year’s poll response was twice that received during the poll in 2014 and 10 times greater than the inaugural poll, held in 2012. This year’s numbers are expected to top the 2015 voting statistics. New Jersey Motorsports is currently in the running with Eldora, Oswego, Knoxville, and Virginia International Raceway for the top five positions with a full week of voting remaining.

“We were thrilled to have received this recognition in 2015,” says Mark Verrastro NJMP general manager. Verrastro stated that by all indications the Millville facility may come out even higher in the poll in 2016. “We have a very loyal fan and customer base who have been casting their votes in our favor since the poll began early this year.”

To vote for New Jersey Motors ports Park in this year’s poll, fans are encouraged to visit online at http://www.nationalspeedsportnews.com/links/my-favorite-tracks/ to enter the appropriate information, indicating NJMP as their favorite race track. Voting ends Wednesday February 24th.

Double-Double: Two New Jersey Rounds For MotoAmerica

The MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Championship likes New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) so much it will return to the venue not once but twice in 2016.

Press Release by Paul Carruthers, MotoAmerica

New Jersey Motorsports Park will host rounds three and nine of the 2016 series, April 29-May 1 and September 9-11. Combine those two events with the seven rounds previously announced and the MotoAmerica series is now finalized for the coming season with nine championship rounds.

NJMP and its 2.25-mile Thunderbolt Raceway is a favorite among the riders and teams and has been a staple of the AMA Superbike series since 2009. It has also served as the series finale the past two years, including this past September when Monster Energy Graves Yamaha’s Cameron Beaubier wrapped up the first-ever MotoAmerica Superbike title.

“I’m excited to be going to New Jersey twice this year,” Beaubier said. “I’ve had a lot of success there in the past and I’ve been able to wrap up two of my championships at NJMP, so it’s a special place to me. There are a lot of passionate fans in that part of the country and it will be nice to give them two chances to see us in 2016.”

2016 MotoAmerica Series Schedule

April 8-10: Circuit of The Americas, Austin, Texas (MotoGP World Championship)

April 15-17: Road Atlanta, Braselton, Georgia

April 29-May 1: New Jersey Motorsports Park, Millville, New Jersey

May 13-15: Virginia International Raceway, Danville, Virginia

June 3-5: Road America, Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin

June 10-12: Barber Motorsports Park, Birmingham, Alabama

June 23-25: Utah Motorsports Campus, Tooele, Utah

July 8-10: Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Monterey, California (Superbike World Championship)

September 9-11: New Jersey Motorsports Park, Millville, New Jersey

Having two races at NJMP will give MotoAmerica double the opportunity to serve what is a large portion of the motorcycle market in the US, with the 500-acre complex located near Philadelphia and New York City.

“New Jersey Motorsports Park was the perfect place to end our debut season in 2015,” MotoAmerica partner Chuck Aksland said. “And we think it’s the perfect venue to hold two rounds in 2016. We believe the fan base will not only support two races, they will embrace it. We’re excited to be going to that area of the country twice for a racetrack and facility that our teams, riders, and staff look forward to going to.”

NJMP is also looking forward to having two MotoAmerica events on its 2016 calendar.

“We are thrilled to be hosting two MotoAmerica races for the 2016 season,” said Brad Scott, Chief Operating Officer of New Jersey Motorsports Park. “MotoAmerica is our largest spectator event to date, and this will bring two times the Superbike excitement for our fan base next season. We are planning more off-track activities for both events to keep the fun and energy in high gear throughout the race weekends.”

2015 Eastern Motorsport Press Association Convention wraps up

A weekend of EMPA media activities culminated today in the Liberty Convention Center at the Crown Plaza Hotel

KING OF PRUSSIA, PaIMG_0767. – A weekend of Eastern Motorsport Press Association (EMPA) media activities culminated today in the Liberty Convention Center at the Crown Plaza Hotel, where representatives from 13 motorsports facilities and sanctioning bodies gathered to discuss industry trends, issues, and, most importantly – the upcoming 2015 race season.

The new year has arrived. New Jersey Motorsports Park will hold its first public track day on Saturday, January 24th, with a pre-season job fair in the works – and the season-opening April 25 Garden State Endurance Challenge appearing on the horizon.

NJMP Manager of Communications Chris Banker spoke in the 130-seat amphitheater in front of industry peers and reporters.

Presenting guests included Kevin Heaney (Pocono Raceway), Kate Guerra (Verizon IndyCar Series), Don Radebaugh (ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards), and Tim Southers (NASCAR), among several others from racing facilities and sanctioning bodies.

The keynote speaker was legendary motorsports broadcaster Ken Squier, a previous inductee to the Eastern Motorsport Press Association Hall of Fame.

Below are some clips from Banker, who participated in the Convention for the second straight year.

On the season-opening Garden State Endurance Challenge, scheduled to feature four 12-hour endurance races on April 25th:

“I don’t know if there’s a better way to kick off our season. We wanted to put together a unique event that celebrates the history of endurance racing, both in New Jersey and beyond, and I think people are excited for it. To combine what is a great regional SCCA event in the Devil in the Dark, ChumpCar World Series, along with MiniGP and Endurance Karting races on the karting track, that weekend is truly going to have something for everyone.

On the ARCA Racing Series’ eighth straight visit to Millville:

“I think that’s a testament to the tradition that we’ve built with the ARCA Racing Series. We’ve had eight races that have given us some of the best finishes in our history. Don [Radebaugh] can vouch for this, I think we’ve had at least two or three last-lap passes for the win during that stretch. We’ve had guys like Andrew Ranger, Andy Lally, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and Chase Elliott as part of these races over the years, and the list goes on. We’re really looking forward to it.

On the 2015 “Weekend of Thunder” featuring Trans-Am Championship and Formula Lites:

The Trans-Am Championship is one of the fastest growing pro series in racing. Those entry lists are multiplying; I believe they had some fields between 45 and 50 cars at Mid-Ohio and Road America last year during the NASCAR Nationwide weekends. We’re thrilled to have them back. Formula Lites, a new SCCA Pro Racing series, unveiled their car at SEMA late last year. The interest and entry lists are growing with them as well.

On attracting new events, on and off the track:

If you look at our schedule, there aren’t too many in racing that can match its diversity. We go from big rigs in April to stock cars in May, vintage motorcycles in June, monster trucks in August, and some of the best motorcycle racing in North America to finish up in September. We’ve also recently announced an agreement with the Warrior Dash, the world’s largest obstacle race series, for an August 8th date at NJMP.
