New Jersey Motorsports Park announces Phase II of Exotic Car Garages

Real estate development to take place overlooking Thunderbolt Raceway

MILLVILLE, N.J. – Following the successful completion of the Exotic Car Garages structure overlooking Thunderbolt Raceway this past year, New Jersey Motorsports Park is excited to announce the project’s second phase, featuring up to six trackside units and a slightly revised footprint. Exotic Car Garages

Plans call for units sized at 800, 1,200, 1,400, and 1,600 square feet priced at $140 per square foot, with an additional $5 per square foot for two premium end units.

“We’re looking forward to getting the second phase of this development project underway,” said NJMP general manager Brad Scott. “We plan to follow the same look and feel as the first garage building, with some tweaks made here and there. It’s going to be another great addition to the real estate opportunities here at New Jersey Motorsports Park.”

One such adjustment is the addition of a ground-level patio that overlooks the portion of Thunderbolt Raceway affectionately known as “The Devil”. Outside decks also remain an available upgrade to each buyer.

Also included with the climate controlled garage is a sprinkler system and CO2 detectors, water and flood drains, 24-hour security, asphalt driveway, landscaping, sewer and cable connections, lighting, an entrance door, and a ground-level sliding glass door that leads to the patio area.

“It’s great to see what our phase one garage owners are doing with their spaces. Lofts, decks, kitchenettes, lifts; if you can dream it up, it can be done,” said NJMP managing partner Lee Brahin. “The Exotic Car Garages have been a great addition to the infrastructure at New Jersey Motorsports Park, and phase two is another example of that progress,”

Available options and upgrades include an outside deck overlooking Thunderbolt Raceway, elevated loft with staircase, powder room, shower, kitchenette, and upgrade electric source.

“What’s really exciting about phase two of the Exotic Car Garages is that every unit will have a phenomenal track side viewing area,” Brahin said. “These units have also been designed to accommodate significantly larger outdoor viewing decks than in the first phase.”

In addition to the six units available for purchase in Phase II, two units remain open at the existing structure at various price points. All inquiries and questions related to the Exotic Car Garages project should be directed to Brad Scott at bscott@njmp.com.

American Endurance Racing set for debut at New Jersey Motorsports Park

Multi-class event makes first stop at Lightning Raaerlogoceway August 1-3, 2014

MILLVILLE, N.J. – A new endurance racing series will make its way to southern New Jersey for the first time in early August.

American Endurance Racing (AER) was created by a group of grassroots endurance racing enthusiasts who have been racing in other disciplines for years. Born out of a desire for an inclusive endurance series with simple rules, AER’s goal is to provide a fun and safe environment for experienced drivers to participate in endurance races using almost any production-based race car while not requiring any significant series-specific prep work.

The NJMP date, like all others, will feature multiple classes, with teams trying to complete the most laps in the allotted time frame. Teams will compete for the overall win and against cars in their indexed class.

“We created AER to be the racing series that we would want to race in,” said AER president John Kolesa. “Lots of seat time at great race tracks, simple, fair rules, and the ease of being able to run the race car you already own.”

Throughout the weekend, various racing personalities and celebrities will take to the 2.25-mile Lightning Raceway in AER’s fleet of Press/VIP cars, which will also be competing for the overall and class wins.

VIP drivers scheduled to participate include: Jalopnik’s Travis Okulski, 2013 BMWCCA National SE30 champion and BMWCCA NJ Chapter president Jeff Caldwell, Road and Track’s Jack Baruth, and Randy Pobst, a two-time class winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona, four-time World Challenge GT champion, and North American Touring Car champion.

Practice and qualifying are set for Friday, August 1st from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with two days of racing Saturday (August 2nd) and Sunday (August 3rd) from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Daily spectator tickets will be available at the gate each day for $5.00. For more information on competing or about the series itself, visit www.americanenduranceracing.com.

PADD 2013 UPDATE PURPLE copy3:36 p.m.

New Jersey Motorsports Park has recently partnered with the Nikki Kellenyi Foundation – People against Distracted Driving, on a number of initiatives to assist in the elimination of texting and driving.

As part of the campaign, a 2013 Harley Davidson Sportster Iron 833 (model XL883N) will be raffled off to an NJMP fan, with a portion of ticket proceeds going to the PADD organization. Entries are $10.00 and available at www.njmp.com.

The motorcycle, valued at $7,999, will go to the winner of a Sunday, September 14th drawing, which will occur following the final race of NJMP’s AMA Pro Road Racing “Devil’s Showdown” weekend. It is currently on display at the facility’s Finish Line Pub.

“All of us at New Jersey Motorsports Park are excited about our partnership with PADD, and certainly this raffle for such an important cause,” said Park general manager/COO Brad Scott. “This is just the beginning of our partnership, and we look forward to a great season of helping spread their message.”

Nikki Kellenyi was the rear passenger of a car driven by her classmate when a fatal collision with a pick-up truck occurred. It was later revealed that the driver of the car Kellenyi was riding in had sent four text messages in the last minute before the crash. Today, it is the hope of the Kellenyi family as well as her large community of friends, to carry on a campaign, in Nikki’s name to call attention to and end distracted driving.

“I know that I can speak for Nikki, my wife Gina, and my beautiful daughter Kristen and all of PADD to say that we are truly honored to be partnered with NJMP. This is an awesome approach and a great way to battle the new epidemic of distracted driving.”

Official raffle rules and regulations are available at www.njmp.com.

New Jersey Motorsports Park’s partnership with People against Distracted Driving’s “Don’t Text and Drive” campaign, announced in late 2013, will include signage at the Park during the 2014 season.
