Daytona 500 Party at NJMP to Benefit Green Flag Children’s Charities on 2/24

Fans can win a same-day hot laps experience with 2009 Rolex 24 at Daytona champion David Donohue, who is scheduled to be in attendance.

MILLVILLE, N.J. – New Jersey Motorsports Park is set to host its fifth annual Daytona 500 party to benefit its Green Flag Children’s Charities.

Doors to the Finish Line Pub, located at the heart of NJMP, will open 11:00 a.m. The 55th running of the “Great American Race” will be shown on two big screen TVs, plus three clubhouse HDTVs. The race is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.

Those who purchase tickets in advance will also have the opportunity to win one of two hot laps ride-along experiences with Rolex 24 at Daytona winner David Donohue, who is scheduled to attend the event in Millville. Dozens of door prizes will also be up for grabs throughout the afternoon; including 2013 NJMP race tickets.

Owners of custom, historic, and classic street cars are invited to bring their hot rod for a chance to win “Best of Show” at no charge. The winner will receive a 2013 NJMP VIP season pass.

The cost is $35 per person and includes complimentary soft drinks, the pub’s famous “Non-Stop” Daytona 500 buffet featuring soup du jour, tossed garden greens with assorted dressings, fresh baked breads, slow roasted top round of beef with creamy horseradish sauce, penne primavera, sausage, peppers and onions with rolls, assorted chicken wings with bleu cheese and celery, French fries and mashed potatoes, green beans and carrots, fresh baked brownies and chocolate chip cookies, and freshly brewed coffee and hot tea.

At 11:30 a.m., for just $5 per car; fans will have the opportunity take their own cars on Thunderbolt Raceway for a series of parade laps.

A cash bar will include draft beer specials and race track cocktails, including the legendary “Thunderbolt Cocktail” and “Lightning Martini”.
