The Lightning Challenge SCCA Regional and TreadZone Pro IT series
The first major racing event held at NJMP after it opened its gates in the summer of 2008 was the inaugural Lightning Challenge. 2012 marks the fifth running of this now classic summer event. Regional championship drivers from up and down the East Coast will be at NJMP battling it out on the very quick Lightning circuit. With nine groups qualifying and racing covering the full range of SCCA classes from formula style grand prix cars to ground pounding GT’s, from stock and touring racers to sports prototypes, there won’t be a dull moment with racing both Saturday and Sunday. And once again the popular TreadZone Pro IT series will be joining The Lightning Challenge weekend – a professional Touring car series known for producing close and exciting race with a deep field of very talented drivers.
